DY-15 is a two-component protective coating described in the source package as an epoxy-organosiloxane interpenetrating network filled with inorganic fibers and ceramic functional fillers.

Preparation, mixing and application

Surface preparation
- Abrasive blast steel to Sa 2.5 with a 30–60 μm surface profile.
- For local repair, remove oil, loose rust and scale, then power-tool clean to St 3.
- Coat as soon as practical after preparation; the source recommends within 8 hours.

Mixing and application
- Mix base and hardener at 9:1 by weight; the package label governs project use.
- Apply by brush, roller, air spray or airless spray.
- Maintain substrate temperature at least 3°C above the dew point.
