Solar Reflective Heat-Control Coating · DY-21

Product overview

Reflective and barrier-based solar heat control for roofs, structures and exterior equipment.

DY-21 is a waterborne coating described in the source package as a blended aqueous resin system with reflective titanium dioxide, hollow glass microspheres, ceramic fillers and functional additives.

Suitable substrates

  • Prepared steel and compatible metal surfaces
  • Concrete roofs after substrate assessment
  • Industrial building envelopes and outdoor equipment

Industrial problems

  • Solar heat gain
  • Ultraviolet and weather exposure
  • Heat accumulation on roofs and outdoor equipment
  • Corrosion protection needs at exterior surfaces

Typical equipment and locations

  • Industrial metal roofs
  • Storage tanks and external pipework
  • Cooling towers and outdoor cabinets
  • Warehouses, plant envelopes and utility structures

Application information

Preparation, mixing and application

01

Surface and environment

  • Confirm the substrate is clean, dry and suitable for the selected primer or direct application route.
  • Keep substrate temperature at least 3°C above the dew point.
  • Stop outdoor application in strong wind or rain.
  • At 5–10°C, proceed only when drying behavior meets the source condition; stop below 5°C.

02

Application

  • Mechanically stir the single-component coating until uniform.
  • Apply by roller or airless spray.
  • The source recommends two coats with at least 4 hours between coats.
  • Use clean water only when viscosity adjustment is required; the source recommends no more than 5%.
