Environmental exposure
Dense tube geometry, welds, restricted spray angles, deposits and staged shutdown work inside the boiler.
Operating conditions
The review focuses on the actual exposure of Boiler waterwall tube bank: duty cycle, temperature changes, moisture or process media, dust or particle movement, vibration, access and shutdown constraints. Where a verified numerical value is unavailable, the condition is kept qualitative.
Problem analysis
Several simultaneous mechanisms required a layered system rather than a single-property material. Inspection should distinguish active defects from stable areas, confirm substrate soundness and cleanliness, and identify edges, welds, joints, low points and restricted-access zones before the repair scope is fixed.
Problem to address
Dense tubes, welds and restricted spray angles create shadow areas where cleaning and film build can vary. Deposits and particle movement add local wear, so coverage at tube sides and weld transitions requires separate control.
